Buell Beard

We captured Larry and his distinguished beard at none other than the famous Buell Mansion in Denver. Though we met him living it up on Friday night at the Buell, Larry lives in Congress Park with his wife Anne, and can often be found showcasing his beard at Goosetown Tavern on Thursday nights. Larry's had his beard for over 25 years, and though Anne loves it, she does miss seeing his awesome chin on occasion. The main reason he sports this fabulous look? Like so many of our other Beards of Denver, he hates shaving, and we're sure glad he does.

Crimson Delight

We had the pleasure of becoming acquainted with Ben at the Crimson Canary restaurant this week. A Denver native, he's been working at the Crimson Canary for about six months, but experimenting with his facila hairstyles a lot longer than that. He described his beard as a sort of 2 a.m. shadow currently, adding that oh-so-important structure to his great jaw line. Initially he said it was laziness that lead him to start growing his beard, but for whatever the reason, we are in favor of his decision. Thanks for being a great sport Ben!

Broncos Beard

We encountered Randy and his young son at the Broncos game last weekend. He's a Denver native, a Broncos season ticket holder for eight years, and he honestly can't remember a time when he didn't rock his beard. Randy loves his beard, and shared this wisdom with us, "When you're a bald man, you grow hair where you can." Well done Randy, well done!

Veteran Beardee

Beards of Denver fans, meet JJ, a veteran beardee who has been growing his beard for 30, yes 30, years. Every year JJ dons his beard from October 1st through April 1st, and then on April 1st gets his one hair cut a year. A carpenter by trade and whiskey connoisseur by hobby, we certainly can't wait to see the progress his beard has made in April. Cheers JJ!

Bad Ass Beards, Beards on Location

Tree Trimming

We had the pleasure to happen upon Andy and his dark beard this past weekend when we were outside of Winter Park cutting down Christmas trees (and drinking Irish Coffee and eating grilled cheese). Andy works for the Forest Service and was helping those of us looking to acquire trees for the upcoming holiday (note the saws in the background). Aside from his Forest Service duties, Andy also works ski patrol at Winter Park occasionally, and said it's just too much work to shave his beard, especially if he's out in the woods 5 to 6 days at time. Keep up the good work Andy and keep that beard growing!

Stick ‘Em Up

We met John, a local Denver musician, along with his lovely wife Becca at the Candlelight Tavern Saturday night. John, who plays guitar and bass, first grew his beard when he and Becca met (she made him do it; she's a good woman). He was both excited to be approached by Beards of Denver and bummed that he just had trimmed his awesome beard. John's favorite feature of his beard is the amazing white streak on the right side of it. John all we know is we love it all!

Colorado Native

Meet Wil, a Lakewood original. Wil has a lot of support for his burly beard–one of his friend’s called him up after stumbling upon the B of D site for she knew his beard must be showcased. Wil told us that the sole reason for growing this beauty is because it “generates all of his super powers and collective knowledge”. He should probably be wearing a cape. Thanks Wil!

Funnyman Fashionista

Beards of Denver followers, meet Jeff Jag, a self-described funnyman and artist in Denver who wears his grand beard with pride, hear puffed-out for, obviously, high-fashion reasons. Jeff has rocked his beard since 2002, only once making the grave mistake of shaving it. You can check out Jeff's art here and here, and follow him on twitter to see when he may be doing standup around town. With that great beard, his routine is sure to be top-notch!
