Beauty Beard

Hello Beauty Bar! Needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised to meet this fair feathered friend at a bar we thought was known for mani's and martinis. Tucker told us this beard just had his 6 month birthday. He has his own beauty regimen-he shampoos, conditions and combs his beard and he particularly loves the flash 'o grey that it displays. He also appreciates that he is able to conceal his facial expressions. Nice try, Tucker---we can tell you're grinning with pride.

The Bold and the Beard-iful

We couldn't NOT approach Cory and inquire about his bold and brash beard. A Colorado native, he and his beard have resided in Denver for the past two years, and he's been growing his beard about fie years. He rocks his beard mainly because his wife loves it (obviously, a woman of great taste!) and he used to like "bad facial hair" and thought it was funny to groom his facial hair in a variety of ways, until he realized the beard suited him best. Cory works as a social worker in the Denver area, helping connect the community to different resources, and we're sure his awesome beard is a great asset to that cause. Awesome to meet you and admire your beard, Cory!

Bearded Beer Trafficker

We had the pleasure of meeting Dan and admiring his awesome beard while trying the Wynkoop's Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout beer at the Bacon and Beer Fest at Mile High Station Sunday (trust us--the beer was extremely tasty and the beard extraordinarily rad). When Dan isn't hocking Wynkoop beers at the Bacon and Beer fest, he's busy with sales for Wynkoop around the Denver area. He's been growing his beard since October 1st and plans to shave it April 1st, and we'll be sure to have a progress report for you at that time--we can't wait to see the final results!

Bacon, Beards, Beers, Buddies

We were lucky enough to happen upon @Moush_Tastic (left) and Gino (right) at the Denver Bacon and Beer Festival on Sunday. @Moush_Tastic has been in Denver about two years and enjoys changing up his facial hairstyles between the stand alone 'stache and the beard, and Gino's a Denver native who's been growing his beard about two-and-a-half months and will keep it until January, when a trip to Mexico may call for shaving it (we hope he reconsiders, though!) These buddies were thoroughly enjoying the bacon and the beer and their beards added to the fabulousness of the event. Cheers dudes!

Crimson Delight

We had the pleasure of becoming acquainted with Ben at the Crimson Canary restaurant this week. A Denver native, he's been working at the Crimson Canary for about six months, but experimenting with his facila hairstyles a lot longer than that. He described his beard as a sort of 2 a.m. shadow currently, adding that oh-so-important structure to his great jaw line. Initially he said it was laziness that lead him to start growing his beard, but for whatever the reason, we are in favor of his decision. Thanks for being a great sport Ben!

Veteran Beardee

Beards of Denver fans, meet JJ, a veteran beardee who has been growing his beard for 30, yes 30, years. Every year JJ dons his beard from October 1st through April 1st, and then on April 1st gets his one hair cut a year. A carpenter by trade and whiskey connoisseur by hobby, we certainly can't wait to see the progress his beard has made in April. Cheers JJ!

Stick ‘Em Up

We met John, a local Denver musician, along with his lovely wife Becca at the Candlelight Tavern Saturday night. John, who plays guitar and bass, first grew his beard when he and Becca met (she made him do it; she's a good woman). He was both excited to be approached by Beards of Denver and bummed that he just had trimmed his awesome beard. John's favorite feature of his beard is the amazing white streak on the right side of it. John all we know is we love it all!

Chip Off the Old Block

We were lucky enough to happen upon Chip and his red beard at Don’s Mixed Drinks this weekend. Originally hailing from Delaware, he’s been a Denverite since 2005, and has been growing his bad-ass beard since 2006. Chip obviously loves his beard because it provides coverage for his face, which we were quick to point out is beautiful, to which Chip responded that he can’t imagine what he looks like without it. Though his family hates his beard, his love for it triumphs and hence, the beard stays.  Hemingway once asked, “What would your life be if described in six words?” Chip’s response was: “Can’t picture myself without my beard.” We’re certainly glad he keeps it around.

Shaving’s for Suckers

We had the pleasure of encountering Jordan and his gorgeous ginger beard while he was having late night cocktails with his friends Liz and Shawn at the West Wash Park neighborhood pub The Spot. A landman for an oil company, Jordan rocks his beard with pride, resisting pressure from others who think he ought to show off his handsome face sans beard (a ludicrous suggestion as far as we’re concerned). A fourth generation Coloradan, Jordan has a fraternal twin brother who also rocks a beard and we can’t wait until the day we can feature them both! He defiantly declared to us “Shaving’s for Suckers!” We at Beards of Denver couldn’t agree more.

Dashing Daniel

We encountered Daniel at the famed Denver neighborhood pub/dive bar/karaoke haven Ogden Street South. Daniel and his beard found his way to Denver about six years ago via Brooklyn (and a few other places) and loves living in D-town. When he’s not perfecting his karaoke repertoire, he’s busy with seminary studies. He loves his beard and his long-haired look for many reasons, one of which is because it’s exactly what many people don’t expect from someone studying religions. Daniel was a bit camera shy because he didn’t think his beard was up to Beards of Denver status yet, so we had the lovely Kim pose with him (Kim happens to be one-half of Beards of Denver’s stellar graphic design team–logo coming soon!). We have no doubt that next time we run into Daniel that beautiful beard of his will be much more billowy!
