Oyster Fest Beard

When you head to an oyster fest, you go in expecting a high-level of awesomeness, and it only gets better when you also meet a fantastic beard. The ladies of Beards of Denver were lucky enough to encounter Dan while in line for said oysters at the Mile High Oyster Fest in Boulder a few weeks ago. From rural Kenosha, Wisconsin, Dan said his beard is stellar for many reasons, most importantly that it acts as a natural sunscreen when he snowboards. He’s been growing his beard since January, and he thinks he’s going to keep it around since it’s took a lot of work to get it to this stage. Dan and his lovely girlfriend Kat live in Boulder, and were Oyster-Fest VIPs; no messing around with good beards OR good oysters! They even shuck their own oysters at home. What we loved most about Dan (besides the oyster stain on his shirt) was the confidence he had about his beard and himself. In his words: “I’m handsome no matter what!” We think, even more so with that bountiful beard.

Designer Beard

We know all of our Beards of Denver readers are hip to certain high-end designer labels, but no Louis Vuitton or Gucci hold a candle to the literally designer beard we have for you. Meet Rick, a graphic designer from Boulder who we were lucky enough to meet at the Bluebird Theatre when he showed off his singing prowess through a Jameson-fueled solo during the Pickwick show. Rick, who is originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has lived in Boulder about three and a half years. Rick said that his family is not too keen on his beard, but being a clean-cut designer is out of the question. He said that he recently trimmed his beard and that normally, it's rather bushy and that we " don't know how bad it really is." Rick, if bad means good, I think we understand.

Poli Sci Beard

Beards of Denver fans, meet Brian from Boulder. We met Brian, and his lovely wife Kate, at a recent house party in Denver's South City Park neighborhood. Brian, who is a Political Science PhD candidate at CU Boulder, has had his amazing ginger beard about 8 years, the past 7 of them being in Colorado. When asked the most memorable comment anyone has made about his beard, a recent evaluation from a student came to mind: "Brian's beard brings benevolent warmth to the classroom that can't be put into words." We're pretty sure that student got an A+.

Aloha Beard

Maybe some would argue that not ALL good things pass through the Bluebird Theater in Denver, but over the years a whole lot of fabulous bands--and fabulous beards--sure have. Meet Brian and his bodacious beard. Brian and his lovely girlfriend Caley recently moved from Hawaii to Boulder and we met them before the Rob Drabkin concert at the Bluebird last Friday. Originally from Texas, Brian hasn't shaved his beard in the past seven years, and shows true dedication by working on his beard 24/7 (we probably don't need to mention that men with beards are especially witty). He's always doing something interesting with his beard, and in his other spare time he's an LSAT teacher, a massage therapist, and dabbles in music himself; an example of a true multi-talented bearded dude. Caley, who works as a doula, of course loves and supports Brian's awesome beard. We wouldn't expect anything less from a bearded man's main lady. Great to meet you and have you and your beard in Colorado!
